I came here with a few friends today and the wait was a bit long for a restaurant that was mostly empty (it seemed like the restaurant was understaffed, but there was a big party going on in the back so maybe all of the staff was there). I ordered the Greek and the Alamo; the Greek was absolutely delicious and a favorite for me, but the Alamo only had one small piece of fish and a little bit of coleslaw - it was definitely a disappointment compared to the Greek. But the price was pretty cheap and I definitely recommend coming here on Taco Tuesday's.

Where do I begin? First of all, there is no email available to contact the restaurant with concerns! Who doesn't have an email these days?! I'm just a regular Johns Creek mom that was excited to be on a date with my husband and actually dress up! Last Saturday night was the perfect night for some relaxing outside. To the rooftop patio we went! Yeay! I thought..... First, after some explanation to our waitress, we were able to get margaritas that were made with water and lime juice...just a margarita without the sour mix. Easy enough, right? So, we have our drinks, the sun is setting, and we would like our fire pit lit... Guess what? The firepit doesn't work. The poor guy that was trying to help get it working was super nice though. He even switched propane tanks for us. Luckily, the table down from us left, so we moved to that table and took the propane tank with us because only 3 out of the 4 fire pits had propane tanks. We wanted to get away from the smoking that was hitting us in the face anyways....smoking still allowed? Gross. The employee that was helping us said that he was not allowed to go get more propane even though there is a Home Depot, Publix, and gas station across the street. Okay, so now we have a working firepit, ordered our second drink that takes forever, and we are trying to enjoy the evening when we see a HUGE group of at least 20 people come up to the rooftop and take the seating area that we just left. You guessed it! They were not happy. No firepit?! Oh, they were very upset. They were not even offered a free round of drinks or anything. No free queso for them either! LOL We talked to the group and invited them over to our seating area with the working fire pit. My husband and I felt really bad for them. So, now we're feeling pretty good. The music has changed and we are doing okay. Time for another drink. It comes, but it tastes different. It's made with club soda instead of water. The waitress take them from us and then comes back. She says the bartender said she made them the same way and....wait for it..."she is not making your drinks anymore because they take 10 minutes to make." Excuse me?! So, you're a bartender and you don't want to make drinks? I guess our money isn't good enough. I guess this company could give a shit less about customer service. Needless to say, we left. We went to another restaurant, told the, the horror story of Twisted Taco, and spent our money there. It's okay Twisted Taco Johns Creek, you must think that because you have a cool rooftop patio that you can treat your customers like they don't matter, but actually it does. It does matter how you treat people. You leave your employees to feel powerless too. Sheesh, the guy desperately wanted to get the firepit working for us, but he was not allowed to. We won't visit this establishment EVER again. The neareby Adobo or Noche will do just fine. And yes, I will be telling all my friends about our horrible experience. Forget a girls' night out with all my Johns Creek mom friends here! Never again.

If you are looking for a "sports bar" you found it plenty of t.v.'s with your favorite games on, beer, margaritas and average food. After coming here a few times decided that it TT deserves a two star rating. The tacos on the first visit were good and had me thinking trying other things was a good idea, well it turns out it wasn't. The Fajitas this evening, the chicken is cooked separately then put atop of the peppers and onions it is overcooked and tastless. The Queso that is served on Wednesdays has no flavor at all with or without beef. After switching to "no meat" I had to add half a bowl of salsa and a heap of jalapeno's just to give it some flavor. Service is something to desired even when slow, on one occasion the bartender forgot my beer until I was ready to leave and the waitstaff seems content leaving dirty dishes and empty plates and glassware on the tables long after you're done.

I love their tacos! Also their fresh chips and salsa are to die for! Everything else is alright at best. The burrito is meh, as well as some of their salads. Their down home shrimp taco is delicious. Tuesdays are two dollar tacos so you must try! Only downside is they dont have calamari :( Also, the service is inconsistent. Some waiters are really nice and some dont care to be there.

Ok, my coworker and I had dinner at Twisted Taco last night because it was in the same complex as the Regal theater where we were catching a movie. I was in the mood for Tex-Mex and despite reading the bad reviews for Twisted Taco, purely out of convenience and to satisfy my craving, we ended up grabbing dinner at this place before going to our movie. So verdict? Yes! Another dinner please! Maybe it's because it's been a while since I've indulged in this kind of food (hey, Weight Watchers will do that!), but I've gotta say, they couldn't bring enough tortilla baskets and salsa and queso dip, I couldn't stop devouring everything! The veggie burrito that was brought out was equally good and had a kick to it that just melted in my mouth. Only negative? Well, it's not really Twisted Taco's fault, but my own for not having an extra change of clothes. We went straight from work and I had my pencil skirt on which was not proper gorging attire. Advice: Go wearing something that has an elastic waistband and you'll be ok!

I went to Twisted Taco in Buckhead more times that I care to admit. It was a mile from my place, I was friends with everyone who worked there, and I ate and drank for next to free. The food was subpar, but it was my own personal Cheers. Because of this, I could never bring myself to write an objective review to the effect of, "This place is without a doubt the worst taqueria I've ever been to, yet I go here religiously because I'm a sucker for a free frozen margarita." Lucky for me, I had the opportunity to objectively test Twisted Taco's Johns Creek location. I went with a party of six for dinner and drinks on a Monday night at 5:30. You would have thought that the place was slammed based on the lackluster service. We regularly found ourselves looking around trying to locate our server for drinks and food orders. That's strike one. Strike two would be that aside from the really good fresh chips and salsa, the food itself leaves serious room for desire. I had a buffalo chicken taco and standard fried fish taco. The fried fish was fine once I doused it Chalula sauce. The buffalo chicken tasted completely unidentifiable and bland other than cheap bleu cheese dressing. The refried beans were barely edible. My biggest gripe, however, was that the entire plate was served lukewarm. That's extra insult to injury considering it was 6:00 and the place was basically dead. It wasn't just me. One of my friends leaned over to me afterward to ask if my dinner was a letdown as well. Yep. There's definitely a reason that all ITP Twisted Tacos have closed. I think they continue to survive and maybe thrive in the burbs because there aren't many (any?) good restaurants out here. Although it's appreciable that Twisted Taco has fun décor, a rooftop patio, and isn't a national chain, I would opt for Applebees or Chilis over this any day.

Well this is a follow up to my original review. I think the service has gone down hill and the management doesn't care. The food is OK and the drinks refresh if you can get a refill.

  • Ellie Y.

The food was ok compared to the other taquerias-but during my meal-my sister and I felt burdened to tip a "great" amount for average quality food and bad service because the group of high schoolers behind us were being lectured by their waitress-- they only left her change for tip... Awkward?

I am updating my review after a few more visits and much better experiences. The staff has become more friendly and the food has become better! I love their free chips & salsa and their boom boom shrimp appetizer!! Their tacos are very good and on Tuesdays they have $2 tacos and trivia night :-) And sometimes, if you are seated in the "jail cells" then you have your own TV and you can watch what you want! It's a nice little place

  • Khia S.

I just ordered a burger, which came on a hard bun...and really did not care for the seasoned fries. The service was ok. However, my margarita was decent. Can't say I will patronize again.

So disappointing. Haven't been to s twisted taco in awhile nor had I been to this location before. Atmosphere dull and drab. Food was the biggest disappointment. Starting with the chips. They tasted like salted cardboard. What happened to those thin, light homemade ones? My Monterey taco was served to me with chopped raw bacon on it. The Greek taco - the meat had an odd rubbery texture. The only reason I am taking the time to comment as it would be great to have this place back to what it was. The location on Holcomb bridge road in Roswell was much better.

Pretty good and a cool atmosphere. They were able to accommodate our large party quickly at lunch. The guacamole was huge and really good. The tacos were unique and tasty.

Out of all the chain Mexican/bar type restaurants, this one is my favorite! I've come here over 10 times now (different locations also) and have never been disappointed! I've had almost every tacos on the menu (except the spicy ones) and they are all unique in their own way. They also have a $2 Taco Special on Tuesdays when you purchase a beverage of your choice. The fajitas here are on point also! My absolute favorite dish for lunch or dinner is the OK Corral Burrito and "get it twisted". The Ok Corral includes Chicken and Steak, guacamole, black beans and yellow rice, sour cream, salsa, and queso. Delicious! Not only do they have great food but their margaritas are great as well! You can buy them by the glass or by the pitcher. This restaurant does an excellent job with large parties or serves as a quick bite to grab for folks on the road. All meals are served with chips and salsa. The salsa varies in spice from day to day so don't be surprised if it's really spicy the day you go! I definitely recommend this place for all ages and for sporting events!

  • Candyce V.

I liked the variety of tacos available on the menu, especially the seafood options. I've never had a taco that had crab cakes on it...different, but good! I appreciate the fact that they let you mix and match tacos, that way you can sample a variety. Chips and queso are always a good choice. Try the Twisted Queso served with ground beef, pico, and salsa. Yum!

I don't know why there are so many negative reviews for this location. the food was great as always. I definitely recommend boom boom shrimp. this place is a sports bar/eatery. appreciate it for what it is. price is right, staff is friendly, and food is great. also, if you go on Tuesdays, tacos are only $2. 4/5

Good environment with nice service and cool seating. Details like cow-hide backrests and jail cell booths with personal TVs give this place a fun vibe! Plenty of TVs around to watch Football. Food is quite good, and I was asked if I was allergic to red dye because they dye their tortillas pink for Breast Cancer awareness in October! It was a little off putting at first, haha, but they DID give me an option. :) All in all I'd say go try it and see what you think! Cool place, food's not too spicy but not plain either. I was happy with my meal! :)

We came here for my MOMS Night Out and had a group of 14 people. We arrived at 6pm on a Thursday night to put our name in, hoping that we'd have a table ready by 6:30 (when we told everyone to start arriving). I was disappointed that they don't take reservations, especially for a large group, but thankfully we were able to get seated without any problems. This location is super cute and has jail cell themed "rooms" where you can eat. Each cell has a tv inside, so it makes it nice for kids to be entertained while they eat (assuming that you're there with children). The food is delicious. I always get the vegetarian burrito twisted (adds melted cheese and salsa on top) and a side of rice. They've got a lot of different tacos to choose from as well. The entire back side of the menu is for drinks, so if you're looking for a drink, they can probably get you what you're looking for. This particular location is awesome because they've got rooftop seating as well. It's an open-air vibe and some nights there's live music. It's pretty awesome to sit up there and take in the views and enjoy their food and drinks with friends. I was surprised at how busy and "club-like" it became as the night got later. We were there until about midnight and from 9ish until when we left, it was the happening place to be. If you're young and looking for a fun place to hang with friends on a Thursday night, I guess Twisted Taco is the place to go. Who knew?

I went on Tuesday for their $2 tacos for lunch for the first time. It was great! The tacos I tried were the black and bleu, hills run red and boom boom shrimp. The boom boom shrimp was soooooo good. The hostess and server were very friendly and I will for sure be going back

The chunky guacamole is really good. We had the Alamo and Baha mahi tacos. The fish tasted a little fishy... a little bit old I guess...Otherwise the food is ok. We sat on the roof and really liked the atmosphere. .. couches, bar, music... next time plan to try the shrimp tacos.

Sometimes theming really makes a place worth the trip. Twisted Taco has a fun, casual atmosphere but lacks the loud carelessness that seems to come with most dinner chain restaurants. It's almost cozy... in a Mexican outlaw kinda way. The food is what you would expect from a Mexican food chain restaurant, but I'll give them credit for their "twisted" menu options- these creative (and tasty) additions or substitutions make this place stand out. (You gotta try the twisted queso!) The margaritas are weak (more sugar than tequila), but with more than ten flavor options to choose from, you'll be sure to find one to your liking. My personal favorite is the prickly pear cactus margarita (with an extra shot of tequila for 99 cents) A wonderful girls night out spot.

If the review can give zero star, I think this is the store to give it. Went into the store, trying to buy the to-go order, waited long time and the waiter just keep talking to his friend, and doesn't give you a shit. Same goes with the waitress, she even lazy enough to just throw the bill to me.. So service star = ZERO. For the food, it's probably the most expensive ridiculous food I've ever go. For 12 bucks (Which at the time I order, I believed the shithead said 8.99!), I got a water boiled onion, bell pepper for your fajita, and no sauce. An chill cheese tasted just throw from freezer. I mean, food wise, it's 1-star level. And I got serious diarrhea soon after I consume their food, thus I think I believe what other reviewer said about their dirty kitchen.

Waiting for over an hour for our checks after they ran them wrong the first time. Staff was rude about it and acting like it was our fault even though it was their system. Horrible customer service.

We ordered wings. They came out wet and slimy. I ordered two fish tacos and I was stll starving. We ordered a couple extra Coke zero and found out they charged us 2.50 every time they filled them up. 25.00 for 10 slimy wings and 2 dinky fish tacos.

Have to preface this and say that I only came here for some drinks on the rooftop. The one thing that really got on my nerves was the fact that there was only one bartender working the bar on a Friday night! Needless to say, getting a drink was quite a chore the entire night. Other than that, the environment is decent. There was surprisingly enough seating for most people that were there. There was even a little dance area. Probably wouldn't go back, but isn't a bad place to meet up with some friends for a drink.

I've spent many a nights at this place and it can be a VERY good time. Service is typically fast and friendly. Food is above average for a mexican restaurant/bar chain. Tuesday's go for the cheap tacos and beer ($2 Tuesdays). Thursday nights on the rooftop (weather permitting) is one of the best places to hang out in the area. Typically an upbeat and mixed age crowd.

I've been here countless amount of times. Mostly because I work 10miles from here so me and a few coworkers always stumble into this place. I've never had a issue with my food here. Its always been very tasty! Recently Lauren, a co-worker of mines ordered queso dip and they gave us tortilla's. I didn't understand the concept. But got damnn it was good. The caged booths. Not gonna lie, seem shady. LOL I've always got the buffalo chicken tenders, extra hot sauce (wet), never once have I had a problem with it! The staff is also nice, nobody in my two years at twisted tacos have they had a problem. I forgot to add, they have big screens so usually it get's packed when there is a game going on! Eat well :)

    (4)
  • James W.

The guacamole is a treat, made fresh in one of those stone bowls. Decent beers on tap, wide selection of margaritas, ample amounts of TVs. The tacos aren't the greatest (fish are probably best), but it's hard to mess up Tex Mex and tacos and as far as chains go, this one is about what I'd expect. Staff was pleasant and punctual, place was clean. The food isn't going to win any awards, but it's also not McDonalds.

I've been here a few times and usually the service is decent and the folks are nice enough. However, they have begun rounding my bill up to the nearest nickel and never notified me. At first I thought it was a fluke. I talked with a manager and he fixed it. The next time, he fixed it again. I thought maybe they just didn't fix their system yet. The third time it was a big issue. I was told by a waitress rather rudely that this was just how they did it. I asked if I could have it total what the price was advertised to be rather than it being rounded and she repeated the same thing. I asked to see a manager who did end up fixing it. This practice is illegal as they are charging more than is being advertised. I realize it's literally pennies, but doing this to thousands of people a day is not ethical when you do not notify them of the practice. Chipotle recently had a class action lawsuit opened with them for the same practice. I will not be spending my money with them again.

The restaurant is very beautiful. Nice intimate lighting, comfortable seating, very accommodating for families and groups. The waitress was attentive. There were a lot of TVs with different games. No matter where you're sitting inside, you can see a tv. That's where the positivity ends. We were blindsided by the extra charges on the bill. Things that should be included in the meal were extra, like the rice and beans. The chicken and steak in my three amigos fajita plater were like rubber. The beans and rice were bland. The only good food were the sides like the pico degaio and the sour cream with the shrimp. If your in the mood for tacos or burritos, save your money and just go to chipotle. It's cheaper and the flavor is a lot better. For two people and a child, we paid 50$ plus tip. It was nice to come and experience, but definitely won't be back. Not worth the price tag, especially since we don't drink alcohol.

After arriving in Atlanta, the city was almost on lock down after the BIG STORM?. Places I had bookmarked were either closed of get this .. getting ready for Valentines Day. This place resembles a poor mans Chevys, nothing more nothing much less. Friendly service, sports on the tube, tight tops on the servers. Chicken egg rolls spicy and good, pork tacos and beef tacos, were average, the beans BLAND. Guess my rating more of a indictment being my first meal in Atlanta being a disappointment.

I'm a fan..first time on Saturday evening.. the Jimmy Buffett margarita was very good. OMG the guacamole was so good.. I am a huge fan of guacamole.. They have some good a** guacamole.. they will see me again soon.. oh and service was very good.

Went last night and decided to eat on the roof top.. big mistake. Got a watered down margarita in a plastic cup and then all downhill from there. The two male waiters who were 21 at best were lazy and rude. We ordered two salads and hubby's with the beef was very dry and not flavorful. Waiting 15 mins to get extra dressing i finally had to get up to find someone when I discovered their little area of service was so filthy... a bucket full of dirty dishes, food strewn all over.. just filth. I tried to get a manager but the high school hostess said there was none.. on the way out I found out there was a manager on duty. He finally came to talk with me and said that this is the way it is.. and it's only dirty where the customers can't see !!! are u kidding me.. defended his wait staff and didn't care if we return or not... so I guess we don't care either... So after 3 yrs of eating there in the dining room I will not return to a place that is filthy, mediocre food and doesn't care that it has rude staff to paying patrons.

Give them a zero. Never got to eat there. I travel with a service dog and was denied access to the restaurant because they wanted to see certification papers on the Service dog. The ADA says papers are not required and most SDs do not have papers and even when the owner has papers they never carry them. Twisted Taco needs to follow the federal ADA

Wifey and I decided to check this place out...we were in the mood for a couple of tacos of varying flavors...and hoped this would deliver. It did...and it didn't... It did deliver on having a variety of tacos...we had the following tacos... (1) Shrimp Taco - pretty good, but very spicy...too much for wifey (2) Fish Taco - not bad, not great, just ok (3) Greek Taco - acceptable (4) Cuban Taco - just don't (5) Carne Asada Taco - wifey found it to be good Service was very good... Wifey and I decided that we can get better tacos in other places, but, if we are in the area and wanting tacos...we will go back.

I really, really liked this location. I've been to a couples of twisted tacos before (the one in perimeter and the one in Roswell) and I have to admit this is my favorite one. It really makes the all the difference in the experience, and our server, Cami was on top of it!! She was down to earth, real, and best of all, personable. I felt like she genuinely cared about our experience and food. I ordered the taco plate that came with three tacos: Monterey chicken, and two types of fish tacos (cant recall the names). They were pretty good. Nothing out of the ordinary, just regular tex mex food. Now the con...the drinks are super weak and I could barely taste anything in my margarita. Not Cami's fault though, I blame the bartender. 4 stars for EXCELLENT service and good tex mex!

Worst service from all staff. The high schoolers you have working for you need some manners and training. I could not believe the entitlement attitude that came from the hostess. We asked repeatedly for silverware and never got them so I got up and got them myself for a party 8...your soda machine did not work, we ordered a pitcher of margaritas when we sat down and did not get them until our food arrived but before I got silverware. Our glasses sat empty, empty appetizer plates sat all during our meal. It was the strangest atmosphere I have ever experienced...The restaurant wasn't even busy. We won't be back nor will we ever recommend this restaurant.

I love the atmosphere of the rooftop with live music, drinks and good food. I had the southwestern egg rolls and the portion size for the appetizer was enough for me to munch on while dining and the take some home for the next day.

I finally made it back to try the food. The atmosphere is typical sports bar style. Service was decent. Food was okay, but not outstanding. The guacamole was very flavorless, though. The crab cake taco had a remoulade sauce that definitely made the taco better. Without it, I don't think it would have tasted so good. All in all, decent place for a taco and a cranberry vodka. But I've definitely had better.

Solid place for American food with a lot of television screens. The burger I ordered came out just the way I wanted... medium well with all the trimmings I wanted. The ambiance is really interesting as it has jailor-bars on some of the booths which adds to the pirate-like theme this place goes for. The service on a slow night can be slow. Good for groups and definitely family friendly.

Food was good but it was so darned cold in there I had to go to the car and get 2 sweaters. When I told our waitress it was freezing the just smiled and said "sorry". Of course she was so busy fawning over my boyfriend it was difficult for her to acknowledge my existence. The place was not very busy at all but there was a group of very loud, obnoxious drunks annoying everyone. The hostess and all the servers were very young, I don't know that they actually had an adult on staff that could've handled the drunks. I won't be back, tired of eating at places that keep it 65 degrees.

If taco bell is your favorite food then this place is for you..... People that know about food ,don't bother !!! Never mind about the food , even the atmosphere is pretty crappy. What's up with these neighborhood bars nowadays ?! They build them so the sound will bounce in all directions creating a very noisy annoying atmosphere even if 3 people are in the establishment !!! If I wanted a lot of noise I'll go to a nightclub. And the cages ???!! You'd have to have some mental issues in order to eat inside a cage..

  • Caroline G.

This place sucks... The food is boring and tastes like the crap they served you in high school on Nacho/Mexican Thursday. The service is the only thing I can say is good. I haven't had any issues with their service or the servers I have had. They smile, bring food, refill drinks and don't hide. Pricing for what they serve you is not worth it at all. It's a joke...go down the street to El Porton and eat real Mexican for a lot less and their Margaritas are much better. I would never go back if it wasn't for their patio upstairs. It's the best part about the place....period and my group keeps dragging me back there. I just eat chips and salsa and drink beer, since you can't really water down a beer and get away with it.

My husband and I went to this place earlier this week for trivia. We usually go to the one off Holcomb Bridge, but they didn't have trivia, so we make the trek to this location. The restaurant itself is nice. They have plenty of indoor seating, a side patio and rooftop seating. We waited for about 5 minutes and were seated inside. Our drinks were promptly served and our appetizer, the Boom Boom Shrimp (which I highly recommend), got to the table fast. Most impressive though, is how fast our food was served. We ordered our main dishes and in less than 10 minutes both of our dishes were served. We usually have to wait 15-20 minutes for our main dishes, but this arrived so fast we were taken aback. We thought that the food must be sub-par to be delivered that fast, but the food was great! We each ordered 3 tacos with two sides, which is more than plenty to satisfy any appetite. I highly recommend The Treasure of Sierra Madre taco! Our server was great. She refilled our drinks, took plates and made sure we always had chips and salsa. She recommended dessert, the sopapillas with ice cream and it did not disappoint. Overall, this place is great. My husband and I will be making the trek to this place from now on.

I've had many, many (probably too many) very interesting nights at Twisted Taco. There's no where else quite like it in JC if you want to stay local and get wastey at the same time. If you're from around here, you know there really aren't a lot of places to "go out". The rooftop is a really fun time in the spring and summer, since there's just something special about drinking on a roof. On the weekends, a DJ plays and my friends and I like to call it "Club TT". The crowd is usually an eclectic mix and I always get a kick out of people watching... I inevitably see someone I went to high school with every single time I go. That being said, I don't go to Twisted Taco much during the winter months when the rooftop is closed. I'm just not a huge fan of their food (it's not bad per se, but I have a Mexican restaurant next to my neighborhood that is my favorite) and the drinks aren't really fantastic enough to warrant just going there for drinks. I like to go for the rooftop atmosphere and to get the true "bar" feeling so close to home.

Having just moved to the area I was not familiar with Twisted Taco and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and I noticed te manager checking in with every table after they received their food. The Boom Boom Shrimp appetizer was fantastic and for dinner I had the chicken fajitas. Delicious and full of flavor! We will definately be back again!

Service at the bar was sub-par and slow. Our bartender was overwhelmed by the three couples sitting there (us included) and the tables she was waiting on in the bar area (another two couples). We saw another couple sit down at the bar and then leave the restaurant after getting no attention for at least ten minutes. Overpriced house margaritas -- plus, why the heck are non-frozen house margaritas on the rocks more than frozen margaritas? Stupid. And no, we didn't ask for them to be "Twisted" (i.e., charge more for a little bit more). After our first margarita, we sat for at least ten minutes waiting for a drink refresh and chips and salsa. The chips came out right as we were packing up to leave so we decided to give them another chance, owing the wait to inexperienced staff (i.e., trying to cut them some slack plus we were hungry and thirsty for some margaritas and Mexi food). After looking at the menu, we chose to split a single order of steak fajitas between my wife and I. The steak fajitas were excellent, gave us plenty of food for two, and were priced fairly but they only brought out three tortillas. When we asked for more tortillas, we were charged for them. We still didn't have enough to last the rest of the meal so we just ate the last part without them. I don't get that... you'll charge us $8 or so for house margaritas but won't give us enough tortillas to eat $18 worth of fajitas... stupid again. This restaurant seems to be just a place to buy food so they can get you to buy the waaaay overpriced shots of tequila. Seriously... $9-$12 a shot for crappy Cabo Wabo tequila? Seriously? We won't be going back soon.

Not sure what all the gripes are about. I eat here for lunch every week. I've had several different servers and a couple of different managers working. Service is always good. Managers almost always table touch. The food is great and always consistent. The salsa is awesome and the chips are yum. I've mainly only eaten the fajita salad and Greek tacos, but both are outstanding. People say this is bar food haven't eaten in enough bars. This is far above and beyond bar food and a bar atmosphere. Things may be different at night and/or other locations, but this is a great restaurant at this local!

Came here for a business lunch (yeah, I was surprised too) because the atmosphere was just.....strange. Literally to our left were these jailor cells with antler-horned chandeliers, and people actually asked to be put inside them. I couldn't wrap my head around an atmosphere like that, but that's ok. I got the baja and carnitas tacos. Both were good and a little messy, but it didn't blow my mind or anything. I've heard good things about the bar, but I'm still not old enough to drink so I couldn't say.

It's a big restaurant with a few different seating area's/choices - including jail cells! We went there for the tacos and had 6 different flavor's. We got a pitcher of margarita - special $14! Overall, we were very happy with our meal and drink. The taco's were very good. A pitcher of margarita was more than we could finish - but nonetheless VERY tasty! The service was good - non-obtrusive - laid back.

Not bad. I went on a Thursday night close to midnight. It was after a graduation and we were starving. As many folks know, there are not a lot of options for late night food in the suburbs besides Waffle House and fast food. The food was ok. Typical and what I expected. They have a nice variety of things to choose from. I went with the tacos. They are decent but this place is no Tin Lizzies. I enjoyed the chips and salsa. The salsa has a slight kick to it. A bit above average in my opinion. Our server was great. He was on top of it and very polite. Service gets 5 stars because of him. The atmosphere was pretty cool. It is an interesting location because it is in the burbs, but it works. The whole plaza is pretty live. There is a Tilted Kilt next door, a Regal Cinemas, Waffle House, Starbucks, and other places all within walking distance. The upstairs rooftop seemed pretty inviting as well. There were lots of folks rolling in and the DJ was doing a good job. Next time I will have to check it out when I am up for it !

Been meaning to check this place out since we moved here last July. Problems was too many places to try in the Johns Creek area and the negative reviews on Yelp. Finally took the family to the roof top on a beautiful evening. Love the space. There's a bunch of living room or patio couches to just chill. 3 flat screens showing sports. The ambience is great, the service was also great. The food was surprisingly good, just not great. Only real thing was that things just weren't seasoned enough. A little salt and cholula would have helped. I had 3 of their tacos. They looked great on the plate but just a bit bland. Certainly a place to go back to on a nice day for decent food.

Terrible service. I took my son here and after we were seated nobody came around to ask for drinks or starters. It was not that busy. After complaining to the girl at the seating we got our waiter who decided he would not interact with us unless it was totally necessary: take our order and give us our bill. Food was ok. I guess once you get off Ina bad footing, everything else seems bad also. Not going back.

I've been here many times but always thought the same of the food - ok. Service was ok but the place is spacious for large parties. FOOD: I had the Down Home tacos which are fried shrimp, lettuce, spicy remoulade, and salsa. It was more like cabbage rather than lettuce. Overall it was ok. This time we had a buffet since it was a party. Even though it was large spread, the food was ok. I have to admit the drinks are great here!

I must say this is our little spot when we want a quick and inexpensive meal. The service has gotten a whole lot better over the months and the food is always great.

We waited at the hostess stand for an absurd amount of time and we're never seated because no one ever came to seat us or even ask us how many in our party. Sadly the restaurant wasn't even busy, so I saw no excuse as to why we were completely ignored.

Decent food, but THE WORST service every time we go. Called at 12:10pm to let them know we were coming. We arrived at 12:30. We did not get our food until 2:03pm. That included a 45 minute wait to be seated, and this has been our experience every time we've eaten there. It's a joke among our friends who also eat here out of convenience that the convenient location is not worth enduring the poor service and wait times. If you come, bring something to do in the meantime...like composing a symphony or taking a nice, long nap.

I had a veggie quesadilla, usually one of my favorites at a mexican restaurant. It was terrible. It had purple onions, tomatos, and jalepenos (which I had requested). Wow.

9 people in our group. Service was excellent. I had the burger and fries. It was delicious. Maybe one of the best burgers in Duluth. Also their cheese dips and chili are good.

The place has a nice ambiance and location but the niceties stops there. The food was absolutely horrible. The loaded tots came with bacon even though we asked for no bacon. The tacos and the burritos had no flavor, I can make better ones at home with less ingredients. Places like Raging Burrito / Takorea have flavor and oomph in their food, this was just bad food with hardly any flavor. The salsa also did not taste fresh. How does a Mexican place not have good tasting and fresh salsa? We will not be coming here anymore.

Awesome tacos and food is reasonably priced. Love the rooftop patio. Service is usually good.

I was actually famished, and the food was still bad. This is the first time I've actually rejected a doggie bag. I'm not sure what the problem is, if they are using old food or something else, but even the aftertaste is repulsive. Someone else said it's the same as Taco Bell. I say Taco Bell is an upgrade. How do you mess up nachos and tacos?

Not great, not bad. Service is average, same with the food. The rooftop bar is nice and a good time on a weekend night.

I was very excited to learn about this close-to-home new location in Johns Creek. It's located in the same shopping center as Regal Cinema on the corner of Pleasant Hill and Medlock Bridge. They are only open for dinner at the moment (starting at 5PM). While the decor are the same, the atmosphere is very different from their Perimeter and Midtown locations, given Johns Creek is a residential area so this location gets a lot of family (with small and young children) traffic. So if you're looking for a bar experience like the Perimeter location, this isn't it. The staff is pretty friendly but I noticed there are a lot of younger servers (possibly last years in high school or in college) so have a little patience if they forget something. Small service issues aside, the food is great as it is at all their locations.

I am an Asian that loves tacos. I swear I could eat tacos every day of my life! Well... maybe that is a lie, but I do love myself some goods and no Mexicans have ever surpassed my challenge of a taco eating war. This location has a bar, inside dinning area, downstairs patio, and a upstairs patio. Do note that the upstairs patio is very limited to drinks, appetizers, and only a few selections of the items on the menu. They do have a band playing their typically, and it can be a fun atmosphere to socialize, mingle, and look over the streets. I find service to be a bit sketchy at times. Pretty much, if it is busy, service is going to be bad. Now onto the food and drinks: Margaritas: Blah! I don't like the sour mix nor do I think they have a good recipe. It's either too strong, too sour, or too weak. For some reason, I can never get my rims salted here. Wings: Ehhhh.... Taco Mac is own a couple miles away. It's alright but not great. Tacos: It's is what I come here for. I like the Alaskan (Crab Cakes), Alamo (Fish), and Baja (Fish). Sides: Your typical, not crazy about. Overall, I think it is a great location to crab some Mexican dishes, enjoy some great cover bands, and just simply hang out with some friends.

I have many many words... But how many do you need to call something crap? Nothing really went wrong but such a typical chain experience. Seems like Shenanigans is losing it's flair. Predictably underwhelming.

We like to go to Twisted Taco because it is basically the only place to have drinks and eat before a movie, the only problem is that this place has horrible service! We sat down on our table and waited for our service for at least 10 minutes. When he finally came he justified making us wait by saying he got triple sat. This has happened time after time... Very annoying, so over this place and their teenage staff.

Let me start by saying that everything I have eaten here has been very yummy! So if you do not care about service on any level (hostess to managers) then you will love this place. I pay for an overall experiance when I go out so after 3 visits I will no longer eat here. Start with the hostess, they are young and pretty, but not nice. I have never walked in and been said hello to. We are friendly and are always having a good time but if the first impression of your business is snotty and not friendly well then I will become that way also. Your hostess should welcome customers and ask how many. The first visit we asked the 4 hostess what time they closed...none of them knew, it took 5 minutes to find out the answer. yep. Servers have been nice, just not well trained. One server will say yes to something when another says no we do not do that. They play around alot and that causes the customers to wait for drink refills and food to be taken away. Managers.....if you have all of these problems you know where it starts. Bad training and a lack of caring is running though this place. I have had 2 occasions where I need a manger one time they said they would fix the problem only to have to be reminded of it 10 minutes later. The other time she lied to my face. I have 2 eyes and a brain, do not lie to me. Say you are sorry and fix the problem. I have never been to any other twisted taco so I am not sure if this is standard. I will no longer eat at this one though. Too many good places around the area to be treated like crap.

Went to this location on a Friday night. The restaurant had a 20 min wait so we sat at the bar. It took at least 10 minutes for one of the two bartenders to acknowledge us. Made it to our table and the service was very slow. It took at least 30 minutes for our food to come out and once it did, was not at all what was described on the menu. Everything tasted over salted; from the salsa to the fish. Our server only stopped by the table once to check on us during the meal and we had to flag him down to get our check. They could have been having an off night so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt but my experience was less than great.

I have never been a fan of Twisted Taco food but this one on John's Creek does pretty good with their tacos. I go on Friday's to listen to the band on the roof. The roof is the place to hang out but service is horrible up here if you plan to eat. My suggestion eat downstairs and go up to the roof to get a drink.

Can't say I love it. As much as I enjoy a good taco, this place has not quite cut it for me. They do offer an array of tacos, but despite it having all varieties of tacos to chose from, nothing suited me and my friends taste. It's fresh, it's good, I guess the flavor doesn't suit certain people I guess...

A totally bland and forgettable meal! The chips tasted like and had the texture of cardboard. The salsa tasted like the bargain brand you would find at the grocery store as did the cheese dip. My quesadilla was both dry and flavorless. Service was ok but nothing special. I'm told there is better Mexican in the area.

Food was great. Server was great. Seating hostesses..... Well that's another story. They'll tell you it's a long wait but seat their friends ahead of you. I had to confront them and magically a table became available. Other than that , all was good.

Newish place in the johns creek area. I visited two nights in a row on a Friday and Saturday. The waiter himself told me the first night that the place is not to be considered a Mexican restaurant, but instead a bar that has some Mexican in the kitchen. He didn't even know what sopapillas are... Anyways it's a pretty big place, with several seating areas inside, outside patio, and on the roof. Both days they were blasting top 40s inside, so we enjoyed the nice night and quiet outside areas. The first trip i split a pitcher of their "mojito margarita" which had a good flavor and decent strength. Second night had the classic frozen, which tasted all right but had no tequila at all as far as I could tell; drained two large cups in less than 15 min and couldn't feel anything. Sampled a couple types of their chips and queso and wasn't too disappointed. Neither time was too crowded, mostly late twentys/thirtys people. Prices were high, about $7 per marg/27 per pitcher. Overall was happy with the place, for a suburban area it's the best you're gonna get.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
